Deepen your understanding of Christ's Passion by arranging the 14 Stations of the Cross in their traditional sequence.
About the Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross (or Way of the Cross) is a devotional practice that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. The 14 stations represent the path Jesus walked on his way to the crucifixion.
This devotion originated with pilgrims in Jerusalem who would retrace the final journey of Jesus to Calvary. Later, for those who could not travel to the Holy Land, the practice of creating stations in churches developed so the faithful could make spiritual pilgrimages.
Today, the Stations of the Cross are found in virtually every Catholic church. They are especially prominent during Lent and particularly on Good Friday, when the devotion helps the faithful connect with the suffering and sacrifice of Christ in preparation for Easter.
